Philosophy
*Pregnancy, labor and birth are normal physiological processes which carry significant meaning to the woman, her family, and the community.
*Midwives are the most appropriate care providers to attend healthy, low risk childbearing women.
*Midwifery care is holistic and continuous in nature, grounded in an understanding of the social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychological and physical experiences of women.

Homebirth
Choosing a homebirth is a deeply personal decision and each woman must weigh for herself the potential benefits and risks. Studies show that planned home birth with a skilled birth attendant is a safe option for low-risk pregnant women; however birth, like life, is never totally risk-free. Midwives carry safety equipment and medicines and are trained to handle emergencies, and a transfer plan is created for every client. Care with a midwife includes thorough clinical assessments throughout pregnancy and birth as well as trust and respect for the birthing woman's preferences, personality, and intuition.
